David McCreight's Background in the Automotive Industry

David McCreight is the Owner of Collision Resources and serves as President. He entered the collision repair industry more than 25 years ago as a Business Development Manager with Akzo Nobel’s value-added program, Acoat® selected.

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a graduate certificate in Leadership Dynamics from Kansas State University. He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and holds a certificate as a Professional Business Coach.

Early in his career, David served many years in the banking industry and specifically as a commercial loan officer. As a result, David has a great understanding of the intricacies of what makes a company tick. He commands in-depth insights into the financial workings of a business and can relate numbers to the business operations and process improvement opportunities.

Over the last two decades David has worked to earn United States Patent 7,359,864 for a Heijunka tool to load level vehicles into collision repair centers. The software follows the principles of Lean Six Sigma by enabling continuous level flow.

As a result of his expertise, David is a sought-after speaker and author. He has been a keynote speaker at local and regional events including performance groups and association meetings. He has presented classes at NACE and presented AMI accredited courses. He has been quoted and interviewed for national trade publications and is a featured collision repair writer for Auto Body Repair News (ABRN) and Vehicle Service Pros.

David’s Industry and Community Involvement

David is actively involved in both his community and the collision repair industry, serving in multiple leadership roles on multiple boards. Over the years, he has filled various positions on the board of the Missouri/Kansas Chapter of the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS). He has been involved in several SCRS National sub-committees. He chaired the Business Management Committee, a subcommittee of the Collision Industry Conference (CIC). Additionally, he has participated on numerous CIC committees, and he has delivered two AMI accredited courses as a speaker at NACE. David previously served on the Certified Automotive Parts Association (CAPA) Technical Committee and chairs the Appointment committee for the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association (CIECA). David also served on the advisory board for the auto collision repair program at the Herndon Career Center.

On a personal note, David has been an active Rotarian for many years serving in various roles including as club president. His love for the outdoors continues as he supports local youth in their development of leadership and life skills in Scouts BSA. He developed much of his current leadership style by teaching Wood Badge at the council level and the Leadership Challenge at both Philmont and the Summit. David also enjoyed many years coaching youth sports.

David lives in a suburb of Kansas City with his wife and their four children. He holds a private pilots license and enjoys high adventure trips with his family.

Ultimately, David is categorically passionate about assisting auto body shop owners and managers to define and exceed their goals.
